Privacy policy

The short version

Biovexity collects your email address when you join the waitlist, and analytics data if you accept cookies. That is all this website collects. We never sell your email address, and we never share it for anyone else's marketing. No health information is collected by this website.

Who we are

Biovexity is a precision metabolic testing and coaching practice based in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. For any question about this policy or about your personal information, contact [email protected]. Correspondence to that address reaches the person responsible for privacy at Biovexity.

What this website collects

When you submit the waitlist form we record:

• your email address;
• the date and time you submitted it;
• which form you used — the one in the page or the bar at the bottom;
• any campaign parameters in the link you arrived through (UTM values);
• the exact consent wording shown to you, and the IP address you submitted from.

The last item exists because Canada's anti-spam legislation puts the burden of proving consent on the sender. We keep that record so we can show what you agreed to and when.

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also collects usage data about your visit. That is covered in the cookies policy.

What this website does not collect

No health information. No test results. No date of birth, address or payment details. If you later become a client, testing results are handled separately and are held in the Biovexity app — this website has no access to them.

Why we collect it

To tell you when testing appointments open in Cochrane, to send you occasional email about Biovexity if you asked for it, to know which parts of the site people find useful, and to keep a record that your consent was given.

Consent, and taking it back

You give consent by ticking the box on the waitlist form. You can withdraw it at any time — use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or write to [email protected] and ask. Withdrawal takes effect promptly. We keep a minimal record that you unsubscribed, and when, so that we do not email you again by accident.

Who else handles your information

Biovexity uses three service providers to run this website. They process your information on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

• Airtable — stores the waitlist record. Servers in the United States.
• MailerLite — sends the email you subscribed to. Servers in the European Union and the United States.
• Cloudflare — hosts the site and routes the form submission. Global network, including servers outside Canada.

Because these providers are located outside Alberta, your information is stored and processed outside the province and outside Canada, where it may be accessible to foreign courts and law enforcement under the laws of those countries. Submitting the form is your consent to that transfer. If you would rather not have your information leave the country, email us instead of using the form and we will handle your enquiry directly.

How long we keep it

Waitlist records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and for a period afterwards sufficient to demonstrate that consent existed and was withdrawn — CASL requires records of consent to be retained. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months.

How it is protected

The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are handled server-side so that credentials for Airtable and MailerLite are never present in your browser. Access to the waitlist is limited to people at Biovexity who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Your rights

Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and withdraw your consent to its use. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 45 days, which is the period the Act allows. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy question, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Which law applies

Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act governs how Biovexity handles personal information in Alberta. The federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act applies to personal information that crosses provincial or national borders, which includes the transfers described above. Canada's anti-spam legislation governs the email we send.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be sent to subscribers by email.
